Competitions

Our club operates a number of competitions designed for novice pilots through to advanced pilots. Our club members also participate in a number of events and competitions hosted by clubs throughought Australia.

The Millenium Cup is our friendly competition designed for introducing new and novice pilots to our sites as well as providing a supervised environment for these pilots to increase their skills and experience. The Millenium Cup is held on a number of weekends throughout the Summer flying season.

The Skyhigh Cup is an online based competition designed for intermediate and above pilots who are familiar with our cross country sites. Pilots can fly cross country from any site in Victoria other than those sites managed by the North East Club. Pilots flights are scored by uploading their tracklogs to the scoring site.

The Skyhigh Paragaining Challenge combines ideas from Rogaining and online flying competitions. A set of waypoints with associated scores is provided for the Mystic site. Pilots may fly any route they choose and accumulate the points associated with each waypoint they manage to make. Each flight is scored by pilots uploading their tracklogs to the scoring site.

The Broughton - Bright challenge is an informal challenge for experienced cross country pilots only. The goal is to fly a paraglider from either Mount Broughton to Bright or from Bright to Yea.

The Mystic Cup is run by the North East Club, however many of our pilots fly this friendly weekend competition.
